Taking the Street to the Stage!

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

An exciting project between St Martins and Norwich Theatre Royal will see homeless people’s stories presented as a drama in the Stage 2 venue of the theatre.

Norwich Theatre Royal are working with a playwright, director and people accessing service from St Martins to develop a verbatim play telling the stories of people who have/are experiencing homelessness. A key aim is to raise awareness of homelessness in the community, to influence and change misconceptions and myths.

This is an opportunity for you to be involved in a performance arts project that speaks about your experience of homelessness. The play will be performed at the Stage Two Theatre Royal, Norwich, in late February 2019.

The director and playwright will be at Under 1 Roof on December 3rd 10.30am-2pm.

Congratulations to Under 1 Roof marathon supremo, Colin, who has successfully been awarded a place in next years London Marathon. Not that this is Colin’s first marathon – having completed the Edinburgh Marathon 2013 in a quite breathtaking 3hrs 57mins!!

He is hopeful of bettering that time, although we couldn’t push him to give his target time! Good luck Colin from all of us at Under 1 Roof please keep us updated on your training.

Halloween bites at U1R!

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Goulishly good fun for all!

A slashing time was had by everyone in our U1R Art Group last Wednesday at our Halloween party. First some pumpkins were gutted and stabbed into spooky masks, then their innards were cooked up into a delicious pumpkin curry.

All was finished off with a scrumptious pumpkin cake. Everyone agreed it was a horrifically good day!

Thanks to Asda in Norwich for their generous donation of pumpkins for the event!
